Britta is a writer based in New York City with a focus on features and longform writing.
As a features reporter at Narratively, she writes “day in the life” stories, often highlighting unknown and obscure characters.
Previously, she worked for a year at The Forward on fellowship writing profiles, features, essays and reviews. In September 2016, she published a longform investigative cover story that exposed alleged discriminatory practices by the national organization of Alpha Epsilon Pi, a historically Jewish fraternity, concerning the bidding of non-Jewish members.
Britta is also a freelance writer. Among her work, she wrote a longform cover story for The Village Voice that chronicled Streit’s Matzo’s struggle to modernize and familial tensions as the owners prepared to move the factory out of its historic Lower East Side location into the suburbs. The story was chosen as a top five Longreads of the week.
